About Us

Dear Valued Customers,

First I would like to apologize on behalf of Twin City Toyota for the upset and concern that the two recalls have caused our customers. Rest assured that with the millions of Toyotas on the road, this is a vary rare condition. Toyota's long record of safety and reliability has been unmatched over the years, but one incident is one too many and I am confident Toyotas will be even safer as we move forward.

The recalls are two-fold. One is to modify the accelerator pedal so clearance is sufficient and not jam with unsecured floor mats. Second is an adjustment plate that will be installed so accellerator pedals will not, over time, cause resistance and slow retraction. The majority are of the affected vehicles are 2009 and 2010 models.

Not all of our models are part of these campaigns, i.e. the Sienna, Yaris, 4Runner, Scions etc. Also, not all affected models need both campaigns, i.e., Tacoma, Venza, Prius are only part of the floor mat recall.

Beginning the week of February 8th, Toyota will be notifying customers, by mail,  if their vehicle is involved in either of these recalls.  Throughout a 30 day period, all customers who own one of the affected vehicles will be notified, by mail,  to call the dealership to schedule the appropriate repair.

The service department will be open extended hours to get these issues resolved in a timely manner. You may refer to toyota.com for additional information and to see if your Toyota is part of these campaigns.

Thank you for your patience and I know Toyota moving forward is committed to restoring your confidence in this great brand. Please feel free to contact me directly with any concerns or questions you might have. I can be reached at 636-931-0555 or via email at johnp@twincitytoyota.com.

Sincerely,

John S. Poppell
President
